ANNOUNCEMENT FROM JIM HINSON!! MUST READ!

Dear Valued Marine Customer:

Every year as we have progressed with our marine service program, I have pushed our staff to provide better and better service each season.  I have done this because I am a consumer just like you, and I expect as much value as possible for the money I spend with repair shops, contractors, etc. So, I am asking you to read this letter to see what we are doing new for this season, and, at no extra cost to you!!

In the “old days” before Hinson Power Sports was your marine service provider, a winterize and summerize focused mainly on the boat motor.  In other words mainly on the mechanical operations of the motor, and not much in the way of the overall boat itself.  Now, I need to take a minute to explain to all of you, exactly what the winterize and summerize are all about. 

Summerize:  This procedure is the first half of the annual service required to keep the maintenance up on your boat.  This is where we focus on the whole package and not just preventing water freeze damage.  We check function of the boat, which includes gauges, electrical, cables, safety items required by waterways sheriff, fastners, runability and much more.  And for this year, I am excited to say that we have added 15 more check items to our list at no extra cost to the customer.  It will be important to give us a little extra “heads up” on your appointment this year, so we have ample time to go thru your boat.  I must note, that if we do not have the proper time, appx. 5-10 days prior to launch, we will not be able to give you the complete service you need!  

Winterize:  This is the second half of your boats annual service Most of you know this one as “making it so water won’t freeze and break my engine apart. Well, in a nutshell this is definitely a true description, but we do much more than just that.  We also change the outdrive fluid to avoid water freezing in your outdrive and cracking it apart, drain the boat shower if equipped, drain ballast tank lines, boat  heaters, pull water pumps out, and so on and so forth.  So, what ends up happening is the boat not only gets guarded against freezing damage, but approximately ½ of an annual service is performed as well.  When we are talking about a service, it is just like that of a car that needs greasing, fluids changed, safety items checked, cables adjusted, etc.
